Overview We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Bridge Designer to join our team in Atlanta, GA . Your role Typical duties involve conceptual and final design of bridges. Reads and interprets survey data, legal descriptions, government standards and codes, and applies them to design. Performs calculations using algebra, geometry, and trigonometry as required. Develops and lays out conceptual designs for proposals to be reviewed by senior technical professionals or project managers to ensure conformance with specifications and client requirements. Creates final plan designs on assigned portions of projects. Performs designs utilizing CAD. Develops sections of projects or details for construction. May prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications. Maintains knowledge of governmental regulations, codes, and ordinances and applies them to plans. May prepare CAD working drawings for interiors. Performs other duties as the supervisor may deem necessary. About You Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or equivalent technical discipline plus five years’ experience, or Associate's degree plus a minimum of twelve years of progressive drafting and design experience (including at least four years as a Designer), or HS diploma (or equivalent) plus a minimum of fifteen years of progressive drafting and design experience (including at least seven years as a Designer). Proficiency in CAD strongly desired; good technical writing and communication skills. Job requires ability to process paper/electronic documents and operate computer equipment; ability to communicate effectively and work under the pressure of multiple deadlines; ability to interpret data, conceptualize ideas, and prepare designs.
