We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Designer of Resort Environments to join our design team at Atlantis in the Bahamas. This full-time position plays a key role in shaping the guest experience through thoughtful, innovative, and culturally resonant interior environments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in hospitality design, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for creating immersive spaces that reflect the resort’s brand and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the design and development of interior spaces across the resort, including guest rooms, restaurants, lounges, and public areas.
  • Collaborate closely with the SVP of Design and Creative Director to ensure alignment with the resort’s aesthetic and strategic goals.
  • Develop mood boards, concept presentations, material palettes, and FF&E specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors throughout all phases of design and implementation.
  • Conduct site visits and oversee installation to ensure design integrity and quality standards.
  • Stay current with industry trends, sustainable practices, and regional design influences.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and documentation for multiple concurrent projects.

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Design Quality & Innovation:

Delivery of design concepts that meet brand standards and elevate guest experience; measured through leadership feedback and guest satisfaction scores.

  • Project Timeliness:

Completion of design phases and installations within agreed timelines; tracked via project schedules and milestone reporting.

  • Budget Adherence:

Effective management of design budgets with minimal variance; monitored through monthly budget reviews and procurement tracking.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

Positive feedback from internal teams, consultants, and vendors; assessed through post-project evaluations and team surveys.

  • Sustainability Integration:

Incorporation of eco-conscious materials and practices in design solutions; evaluated through sustainability audits and compliance with resort goals.

  • On-site Presence & Responsiveness:

Active participation in site meetings, installations, and issue resolution; tracked through attendance logs and issue turnaround metrics.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in hospitality interior design, preferably with luxury or resort properties.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing hospitality projects.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Must be willing to travel to the property on an average of two (2) weeks out of each month. The remainder of the time will operate out of the corporate offices in Plantation, FL.
