Job Description
Join one of the nation’s premier academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine, as a Lead Programmer – Marketing. This is a remote, work from home opportunity, and you may be based outside of the greater Chicagoland area.
The Lead Programmer – Marketing, under general direction, has duties of architecting, designing, and implementing the front-end of scalable, high-performing digital solutions that provide a seamless user experience. Collaborates with marketing operations and other cross functional business and IT teams to ensure the front end meets business and technical requirements. This is a hands-on technical contributor who must understand underlying code, establish or work within existing coding standards, optimize performance, and ensure scalability. Must be knowledgeable with cutting-edge tools and technologies that may enhance the UI and UX, as well as user behavior and design trends that may affect website performance.
Essential Job Functions
Perform quality assurance reviews
Work with marketing department on requirements
Develop code to support business and technical requirements
Employ multiple test strategies
Communicate ongoing status and outcomes
Required Qualifications
Minimum three years of experience with Sitecore
Certification in Sitecore front end
Experience with headless architecture
Familiar with one or more web testing frameworks
Experience modern JavaScript technologies/frameworks, such as React, Vue, or Angular
Expertise in UI/UX principles
Familiar with WCAG 2
Minimum three years of experience leading IT-related projects and project/work teams
Six years of directly applicable experience in systems analysis, programming, and technical design
Minimum six years of experience programming in one or more languages
Proficiency in all phases of the system development life cycle, including requirements definition, analysis, design, programming, testing, implementation, and maintenance
Demonstrated ability to identify areas for improvement, capable of making recommendations and implementing solutions
Demonstrated ability to lead group discussions
Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution
Must work well in a team environment and be able to partner with both business and technical team members
Demonstrated ability to self-direct, multitask, and partner with technical staff from different departments
Strong organizational and consensus-building skills
Requires technical creativity and a strong understanding of information technology in healthcare
Preferred Quaifications
Experience working in Agile environments
Familiarity with tools such as Webpack, Babel, and RESTful APIs
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
Familiarity with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue
Certifications in modern front-end technologies
