We are seeking a motivated, high–energy individual to join our
Authorization Billing Team . In this role you will be responsible, reliable, detail‑oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast‑paced environment. Good people skills are required to communicate with patients, referral sources, and insurance companies via phone and internet. Previous professional experience or educational background in healthcare customer service or intake is a plus, but not required. A background in medical equipment is preferred and we will train the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Verify and enter insurance data into the patient’s electronic medical records.
Submit patient information to insurance plans for required authorizations.
Maintain knowledge of PHM contracted insurance plans.
Educate patients, referral sources, and coworkers on insurance coverage criteria for items ordered.
Follow up on pending accounts according to policy.
Follow insurance plan guidelines as well as State and Federal Regulations.
Perform other duties assigned by manager.
Demonstrate ability to learn quickly.
Contribute as a team player in a professional and fun environment.
Prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and independently.
Competency in working within a healthcare billing and records system is a plus.
