Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Civil/Environmental CAD Designer at Young & Associates, based in Indiana, PA. The CAD Designer will be responsible for creating technical drawings, computer-aided designs, and construction drawings for various civil and environmental engineering projects. Additional tasks may include collaborating with design engineers, ensuring project plans align with requirements, and assisting with project documentation and specifications. This role requires excellent teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a professional engineering environment.
Qualifications
Skilled and proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D (Relevant experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Survey/Civil/Hydrology is a requirement)
Thorough background and understanding of, but not limited to, surface development and grading, survey points integration, property boundary drafting, stormwater drainage areas and stormwater management in general, corridors and assemblies, road and parking area design, pad design, land development standards, layout and plan development, water distribution and sanitary sewer systems, storm sewer systems plan and profiles, culvert and bridge drafting, construction materials, erosion and sedimentation controls/plans/details, piping layout and profiles, PennDOT standards, highway occupancy permitting, oil & gas site development, and quantity take-offs
Familiar with HydroCAD stormwater modeling is a plus
Basic skills using Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Etc...)
Familiarity with PA1Call system (POCS)Primary responsibility: civil/site design drafting from start to finish under the direction of project engineers and managers
Occasionally attend meetings, field visits, communicate with owners, consultants and contractors
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Associates degree or certification in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Design, Computer Aided Drafting or a related field is preferred
Prior experience in a similar role is an advantage but not required

Role Description
