Drug Authorization Specialist
We are currently seeking candidates for a Drug Authorization Specialist position with a highly respected and innovative Boston hospital known for its exceptional patient care and groundbreaking research. This is a 3–6 month contract opportunity paying $20–$21 per hour, based in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
Perform pre-registration of new patients by making and receiving calls to collect and document patient demographics, financial details, and other personal information.
Verify patient identification and update insurance or demographic data as needed.
Manage referral and authorization information for assigned patients.
Communicate with physicians and medical providers to clarify clinical details.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all daily activities in the hospital information system.
Support departmental operations and contribute to a positive patient experience through effective communication and attention to detail.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (preferred).
0–2 years of relevant experience in healthcare administration, health insurance, medical policy review, nursing, or allied health.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience with Epic is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of handling confidential patient information with professionalism.
