About The Role The
Podcast Producer
will lead the creative and operational development of The Bells I Hear, ensuring that every episode is mission‑aligned, thoughtfully produced, and trauma‑informed. This role is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling, housing justice, youth issues, and using media to drive change.
You will work closely with MAP leadership, the host, creative teams, and guest contributors.
Key Responsibilities Production & Coordination
Manage the full production cycle of each episode—from planning to publication
Develop episode outlines, narrative structures, and research briefs
Maintain the production calendar, workflows, and documentation
Guest Research & Management
Identify and research potential guests
Lead guest communication, outreach, scheduling, and onboarding
Prepare interview briefs and pre‑recording guidance
Recording & Logistics
Support remote or in‑person recording sessions
Ensure all materials, equipment, and schedules are prepared
Coordinate with audio editors and post‑production partners
Editorial & Creative Support
Shape episode themes, story arcs, and messaging
Ensure all content aligns with MAP’s mission, tone, and compliance guidelines
Collaborate with Creative and Communications teams on promotional assets
Team Communication
Provide weekly updates to MAP leadership
Collaborate across multiple MAP teams, including PromisePress, Thread & Promise, and PromisePlay
Qualifications
Experience in podcast production, audio storytelling, journalism, or multimedia (professional or project‑based)
Strong research, writing, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and creative partners
Experience navigating sensitive topics (mental health, youth issues, trauma, housing) with care
Commitment to MAP’s mission, values, and trauma‑informed practices
Audio editing knowledge is a plus but not required
Time Commitment 5–10 hours per week , with flexibility. Some availability needed for meetings and recordings.
