Role Description
Full‑time on‑site role in Richmond, VA for a Fire Protection Designer. The Fire Protection Designer will be responsible for designing fire alarm and/or fire protection systems, creating detailed drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations. Day‑to‑day tasks include collaborating with engineers and clients, conducting field assessments, and preparing project documentation and reports.
Qualifications
Experience in designing fire alarm and/or fire protection systems and creating detailed drawings
Hydraulic or voltage‑drop calculations
NICET Certification
Knowledge of local fire protection codes and regulations
Proficiency in using CAD software and other design tools
Ability to conduct field assessments and site inspections
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Professional certifications in fire protection design are a plus
Experience working with federal, military, or industrial clients is advantageous
Willingness to travel
Must be able to obtain a security clearance
