Overview The CAD Drafter is responsible for preparing routine to moderately complex detailed drawings, sketches, and profiles to support the planning, development, and construction of various physical projects or products. This role works under general guidance to interpret design concepts, explore form and design variations, and translate ideas into accurate technical drawings. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of CAD technologies and demonstrates strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed 2D and/or 3D drawings, sketches, and profiles for use in design, planning, fabrication, and construction.

Interpret design specifications, project requirements, and verbal instructions to produce accurate technical documents.

Utilize computer‑assisted drafting (CAD) software and related tools to create, modify, and update drawings.

Develop design alternatives or variations based on direction from engineers, designers, or project managers.

Ensure drawings conform to established standards, specifications, and quality expectations.

Maintain organized project documentation and drawing databases.

Collaborate with project teams to clarify details and resolve drafting‑related issues.

Revise drawings as needed based on feedback or changes in project scope.

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in CAD drafting or related technical drawing work.

Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar (specific tools may vary by industry).

Understanding of drafting standards, dimensioning practices, and technical documentation.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, error‑free drawings.

Good communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to follow detailed instructions and work within established workflows.

Associate degree or certificate in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field (preferred but not always required).
