The Senior Technical Writer is responsible for producing and revising complex documentation that supports product operation, repair, maintenance, and marketing. Creating and updating detailed technical documentation using modern publishing software Developing product descriptions, functional descriptions, operating procedures, troubleshooting steps, repair instructions, and illustrated parts breakdowns Preparing technical reports, proposals, and marketing-related documentation Ensuring all documents comply with customer requirements, government specifications, engineering standards, and company language guidelines Researching and consulting with engineering staff to accurately document systems, components, and equipment Analyzing engineering drawings and technical data and translating them into clear, understandable documentation Evaluating illustrations, graphics, and schematics to determine optimal placement and usage Requesting new or updated illustrations and graphics as needed Assisting with project planning by providing time and cost estimates for documentation tasks Interfacing with customers on project content, requirements, and technical questions when required Participating in content reviews and validation activities both onsite and offsite Supporting the development, testing, or review of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals Providing input on formatting, structure, and style for technical documentation sets Leading small projects or contributing to sections of larger documentation initiatives Staying current with industry tools, best practices, trends, and documentation technologies Maintaining a safe work environment and promoting compliance with company safety standards Skills Required

Working knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electronics, and system operations Experience with advanced publication and page production software and IETM development processes Ability to understand complex engineering designs and translate them for non-technical users Ability to lead and contribute to problem-solving efforts with cross-functional teams Strong attention to detail and command of the English language XML authoring experience with tools such as Arbortext Epic Editor or Oxygen Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Access experience is a plus Proficiency using Adobe Acrobat Professional or similar markup software Mechanical, electrical, or operator technical writing experience, preferably in the defense industry Validation and verification experience; on-vehicle experience is a plus CMS experience is a plus Ability to work effectively with diverse teams across multiple locations Knowledge of IETM functionality, development cycles, and markup languages Familiarity with military and commercial documentation standards Ability to apply specialized technical knowledge as needed Experience Required

Defense industry experience Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus five additional years of experience Benefits:

Pay Range: $48.00 - $52.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
