Title: CAD Designer - Plastics/Foam/Structures

Location: Southfield MI 48076

Duration: 6+ Months (Temp to hire)

Shift: 8 AM - 5 PM Monday - Friday

Job Overview:
  • We are currently seeking a CAD Designer - Plastics/Foam/Structures.
  • This position requires experienced professionals responsible for designing and developing seating components using Catia 3DX for a world-class vehicle in terms of both styling and function.
  • Our ideal candidates exhibit a can-do attitude and approach their work with vigor and determination.
  • Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, possess the ability to learn quickly, and strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
  • They will also act as mentors to more junior engineers.
Your Role:
  • Be a significant contributor to a world-class seating team.
  • Contribute to the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of seating components in the portfolio.
  • Work with the DREs /Lead Engineers/ Broader stakeholders to assure CAD is updated per team agreements and adherent to industry standards and design guidelines.
  • Employ and develop effective tools and an innovative approach to supporting the development.
Qualifications:
  • Must have been part of at least 2 full programs from start to finish.
  • Previous knowledge of seating systems
  • Experienced in using CAD to create 2D/3D concepts efficiently, also packaging layouts, and DFM studies, specifically with CATIA 3DX.
  • The ideal candidate would be someone who has experience working in a cross-functional team involving multiple vehicle systems.

  • A strong desire to create the very best product, working as an integral part of a very capable team.
  • A practical hands-on approach to complement the theoretical.
  • Design experience operating with CATIA 3DX.
  • Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills (both written & verbal) to communicate effectively with the different vehicle systems.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in science or in a relevant discipline.
