Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Textile Artist role based in Costa Mesa, CA. The Textile Artist will be responsible for creating, developing, and implementing textile designs that align with the company's creative direction. Day-to-day tasks include researching trends, experimenting with various materials and techniques, collaborating with the design team to develop innovative swimwear and cover-up patterns. The role will also involve ensuring quality design execution and adhering to development timelines.

Responsibilities

• Research and stay ahead of trends in color, print, and pattern for each season.
• Design innovative all-over prints, placement prints, and novelty fabric patterns using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Apply a deep understanding of print applications and execution techniques, ensuring alignment with swimwear collection needs.
• Manage the development of print and artwork files, ensuring accuracy before sending them to mills for multiple brands.
• Collaborate with the Art Director and Design Director to define and execute the seasonal print roadmap.
• Review and provide detailed feedback on strike-offs from vendors to ensure design integrity.
• Utilize technical expertise in scaling, color separation, artwork placement, repeat creation, and preparing indexed files for production.
• Develop original artwork for prints, embellishments, novelty fabrics, and embroideries, incorporating trends and creativity.
• Create indexed repeats from purchased artwork and vintage garments to craft unique, trend-driven designs.
• Work closely with the design team to prepare and present seasonal collections to clients.
• Contribute to the organization and efficiency of the design team, ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.
