Job Summary

Visual Development Artist – create stylized environment designs to translate into 3D sets. Work closely with the Production Designer and practical sets team to develop rough concepts into detailed designs for set builders, and design original sets, environment details, and props from scratch based on prompts.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Production Designer to translate the film vision from concept to finished design through drawings and paintings.
• Create environment concepts, color keys, lighting studies, mood paintings, and production illustrations, and develop them into clear, solid design sketches.
• Implement feedback promptly and professionally.

Required Qualifications

• Strong drawing skills, specializing in concept environment design.
• Solid understanding of visual language – texture, color, dimension, scale, perspective, shade, composition, depth of field, proportion, spatial awareness.
• Ability to adapt to a variety of styles.
• Understanding of 2D to 3D translations and use of 2D or 3D tools.
• Self‑motivated, good communication skills, and excellent teammate.
• Working knowledge of Photoshop and Cintiq.

Nice to Have Qualifications

• Working knowledge of a 3D modeling software such as Maya or Blender.
