The Venue
Pacific Electric is a 750-capacity music venue located in a historic warehouse, offering a “lightning in a bottle” entertainment experience that combines live performance with refined hospitality and thoughtful design. It serves as a cultural hub where local creatives and global talent intersect, alongside two complementary hospitality concepts each with its own brand identity.
The Role
The Production Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee the entire production process for the campus, including the venue, the outlets, and any other areas that require technical expertise or equipment. As a key member of the leadership team, the Production Manager plays an integral role in the overall success of the site.
Responsibilities
- Advance all aspects of each incoming event and carve out front‑of‑house responsibilities for the operating team.
- Execute the technical vision for all events (gigs, club nights, and private events), hire, schedule and oversee the techs who will use the in‑house consoles, providing technical support to the visiting production team.
- Troubleshoot house equipment when required.
- Own and oversee the entire live‑show cycle, leading execution from artist arrival and load‑in to show time and load‑out.
- Drive technical standards and strategy, maintaining a constant focus on innovation and process optimization to deliver best‑in‑class productions across all concepts.
Technical Infrastructure & Innovation
- Deploy and maintain all AV infrastructure across the entire complex to guarantee superior audio and visual integrity in the venue and all F&B outlets.
- Manage all external resources, including acquisition, coordination, and integration of specialized rental equipment for diverse event needs.
- Cultivate productive relationships with technical suppliers and integrators to secure state‑of‑the‑art upgrades, maintenance, and direct the use of in‑house media capture and streaming systems for content creation.
Leadership & Financials
- Mentor and direct the technical team, managing talent scheduling and deployment using internal scheduling and management software.
- Manage technical expenditure, payroll, and budget reconciliation to the highest standard in collaboration with the Finance team.
- Create and share estimates as needed with Sales and Operations.
- Contribute actively to the complex’s overall business plan by understanding and analyzing site P&L for improvement and enhancement.
- Ensure absolute compliance with all local, state, and federal safety standards, including adherence to electrical safety standards (NEC/OSHA) and periodic equipment inspection.
- Implement, monitor, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Prerequisites
- 3–5 years of experience in a fast‑paced environment with expertise in audio, lighting, and networking protocols.
- Demonstrated excellence in team leadership, personnel management, and fostering productive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Outstanding organizational and time‑management skills.
- A decisive and collaborative individual who leads by example as a hands‑on operator.
- Comprehensive understanding of critical emergency response procedures and facility safety compliance (First Aid & LAFD fire safety protocols desirable).
