Employment Type: Full Time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Integrated Strategic Communication

Start Date: Anticipated August 1, 2026

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in Health Communication, Campaigns, Social Media, and COMM 1110 (public speaking)
  • Maintain a robust record of research and conduct peer‑reviewed research
  • Provide service to the department, college and university
  • Serve on department and college committees
  • Work well with both colleagues and students

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in communication, mass communication, communication studies, media studies, or a closely related discipline
  • Early level career as a faculty member (Assistant Professor)
  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation requirements
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned
  • Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements)
  • Desirable personal qualities judged based on personal interview, biographical data, and recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and ability to teach media analytics
  • Expertise in research methods

Shift / Salary / Benefits

Academic year based position (August through May). Full‑time equivalent 1.0. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and is subject to availability of funds.
