Position Summary
The SUNY Cortland Communication Disorders & Sciences (CDS) Department has an opening for a full‑time faculty member and Audiological Services Coordinator. General responsibilities include teaching courses related to hearing, hearing sciences, hearing‑related interventions in our undergraduate Speech and Hearing Sciences program and in our graduate Speech‑Language Pathology program, clinical training of graduate clinicians conducting hearing screenings and developing and cultivating an active research agenda. Other responsibilities include conducting hearing screenings and evaluations with members of the campus and surrounding communities, assisting in academic advising with undergraduate students, and service to the CDS Department, School of Professional Studies, and.

Major Responsibilities
- Provide instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in hearing sciences.
- Advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
- Engage in scholarly work and activities as appropriate to the application and receipt of continuing appointment (tenure) and promotion at SUNY Cortland.
Service
- Provide service to the department and university.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships
- Reports to the academic department chair.
- Works closely with the department faculty.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Audiology (AuD) or Ph.D. in speech‑language pathology/communication disorders, audiology, or related field.
- A doctoral candidate with ABD status will be considered with work initiated on dissertation and designated completion date within 12 months of start date.
- Hold or be eligible for New York State license from the Office of the Professions to practice as a speech‑language pathologist or an audiologist.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hold or be eligible for American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence – Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) or Audiology (CCC‑A).
- Expertise in teaching in the content areas of hearing anatomy, hearing science, audiology, and aural rehabilitation is highly preferred; multiple areas of expertise preferred.
