Position Overview The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for crafting and executing the Club's communication strategy to enhance member experience, brand visibility and reputation. The Manager leads the promotion and marketing of club activities and events. This role also includes overseeing the Club's website, member and employee communications, managing social media initiatives, event photography, and maintaining photo archives. In addition, the Manager ensures effective internal communication within the Club by keeping employees informed about key developments, policies, and events. The role includes creating visually engaging materials such as digital flyers, menus, posters, and weekly email newsletters, all aligned with the club’s brand and messaging.
Job Tasks / Duties
Supervises development of the club’s communications program
Establishes and creates marketing materials for all aspects of the club, including special events, menus, activities, in‑house signage and other relevant materials
Oversees all direct e‑mailings, including composition and design
Take photos and videos for use in club publications and social media
Creates flyers, signs and promotional materials
Works with department heads to determine web needs
Maintains and promotes club’s website content and usage for members and staff
Responsible for the updates and accuracy of the calendar of events and e‑mail blasts to members; coordinates writers, editors and others who assist with the club’s newsletters
Writes, composes or edits all club articles; collects, organizes and submits all copy for production on a timely basis; proofs contents for corrections and changes; responsible for design and layout of page format and cover design
Serves as managing editor of the employee newsletter
Develops e‑mail promotions and mailings with guidance from the AGM and other department heads
Attends staff meetings
Uses social media to communicate with and promote special events to members
Provides administrative support to Membership Services office and drafts correspondence to members and non‑members as needed to support the club administration
Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000. Annual bonus. Comprehensive benefits package including:

Requirements Education and/or Experience: Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications or English desirable
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
Skill and experience in feature writing, copywriting, proofreading and editing
Skill and experience with marketing content design and distribution
Familiarity with ChatGPT and Canva
Familiarity with editing standards including The Chicago Manual of Style, the Associated Press Stylebook
Website content management experience required
Experience with computer graphics software, including In‑Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher and Adobe Acrobat
Physical Demands And Work Environment
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, stand, and lift up to 40 pounds
Must be able to sit for extended periods
Moderate noise levels are present in the work environment
Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor temperatures
