Marketing and Brand Public Relations Specialist UnionPay International is seeking a Brand Marketing Manager to support and implement the company’s global brand and public relations strategies across the U.S. and Canada markets. This position will play a key role in local market research, media engagement, PR campaign execution, and brand governance. The role is based in Jersey City, NJ, and reports to both local management and the global brand team at headquarters.

Responsibilities

Conduct and coordinate research on brand equity, market trends, media sentiment, competitor positioning, and cardholder preferences in the U.S., supporting HQ strategy with actionable insights.

Build and maintain strong relationships with mainstream media outlets and local marketing channels, and collaborate with HQ to develop and confirm PR or promotional themes.

Execute local brand and PR initiatives in alignment with headquarters’ guidelines, and provide support for the Latin American market, including delivering brand and PR training, supporting content development, and reviewing materials for compliance with brand visual identity (VI) standards.

Assist with product naming, trademark registration, verification, and ongoing maintenance.

Plan and manage public relations events, draft press releases, and create various PR content and marketing collateral to ensure timely, accurate, and effective communication of key company messages to target audiences.

Serve as the liaison with the HQ brand and PR teams; support any additional assignments from headquarters or local leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.

Preferably 2 or more years of relevant experience in branding, PR, or marketing, ideally within the financial services or technology sectors.

Strong analytical, interpersonal, and project management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); experience with design tools or data visualization is a plus.

Familiarity with media relations, event planning, and content development.

Willingness to travel for business purposes.

Able to work collaboratively with cross-regional and cross-functional teams.
