Job Description Location: Omaha, Nebraska Coworx is seeking a 1st Shift Project Designer to join our dynamic design team in Omaha, NE. This role is essential in leading the development of architectural plans and coordinating with homeowners, subcontractors, project managers, and field superintendents throughout the entire design process. The ideal candidate will have strong technical drafting skills, proficiency in Chief Architect (training provided if needed), and a passion for delivering high-quality, client-focused design. This role requires proficiency in English to complete documentation and follow safety instructions. Responsibilities Lead the design of multiple residential projects simultaneously under the supervision of management. Transform conceptual designs into detailed plans through iterative collaboration with clients and consultants, ensuring alignment with budgets, style preferences, and project goals. Manage extensive client communication through meetings, calls, and email—organizing key information and ensuring client satisfaction. Collaborate with designers and project managers to produce comprehensive construction documents including demo and framing plans, electrical and mechanical layouts, elevations, structural details, and site plans. Review drawings, specifications, and related documents to identify conflicts, code issues, and design challenges. Revise and modify drawings per feedback from management, consultants, and team members to ensure highly accurate final documentation. Conduct initial site visits—measuring, photographing, documenting existing conditions, and discussing project scope with homeowners. Coordinate additional site visits as needed to gather further structural information. Work with drafters, designers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate all design elements into final plans. Maintain and update drawing files, project documentation, selections, and related records. Assist with material take-offs and preliminary cost estimation. Support the department lead with developing processes, best practices, workflows, and organization of project files. Help streamline project pipelines, reduce design errors, and create / update templates for design and client communication. Research modern design technologies and industry best practices to support ongoing department improvement. Desired Background / Skills Minimum 3 years of experience as a Designer or Draftsperson, ideally in residential architecture or construction. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field preferred. Experience with Chief Architect, Bluebeam Revu, and Lumion preferred (training available for Chief Architect). Strong technical knowledge of architectural drafting, building codes, and construction methods. High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and reviewing drawings. Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage many moving project parts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams. Self‑motivated, able to work independently and in a team environment. Driven, growth-oriented, and willing to take on responsibilities outside of design when needed. Portfolio required (preferred) demonstrating previous project experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
