Instructional Assistant – Film and Digital Arts
Position Summary: The Department of Film and Digital Arts will hire part‑time, on‑call Instructional Assistants to support up to ten hours per week in in‑person classes. Candidates should have solid knowledge of film history, criticism, and theory.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with class preparation and commenting on students’ homework, quizzes, and exams in some courses.
Providing technical assistance in other courses.
Serving as a writing or filmmaking mentor and using cinematic arts experience to enhance student learning in small group discussions.
Conditions of Employment
Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas must comply with the University’s influenza vaccination requirement.
All regular, non‑temporary positions in this classification are represented by a labor union under the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completion of a degree from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may substitute for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Record of working with university film and digital arts faculty.
Excellent academic background in film or related arts.
Bachelor’s Degree related to film and digital arts.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, and experience working with broadly diverse communities.
