The New York Post is seeking a Part‑Time Reporter to join our Sunday team. This is a great opportunity for an early‑career journalist with strong writing skills, curiosity, and a sharp eye for what makes a good story. You’ll help contribute to one of the most widely read print editions in the country and gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced newsroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Cover assigned stories and conduct interviews
Pitch interesting, relevant, and creative stories for our Sunday paper and Saturday web coverage
Rewrite and update existing stories as needed
Aggregate breaking news and trending topics from trusted sources
Write clean, engaging copy for both print and digital
Work collaboratively with editors and other reporters to develop strong story ideas
Stay on top of news developments and flag timely angles
Requirements
1–3 years of reporting or newsroom experience preferred (internships count)
A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
Strong writing and research skills
Ability to work on deadline and adapt quickly to breaking news
Comfortable covering a range of topics, from news and politics to entertainment
A team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
Passion for journalism and the fast‑moving media world
Pay Range
Pay Range: $20.00 per hour – $25.00 per hour
