Responsibilities Systematic Management of Social Work in Libraries
Identify, create and sustain liaison relationships with libraries and community referral resources for library patrons.
Track and monitor trends in needs being presented by patrons to libraries.
Work with library staff to learn about challenges that need to be addressed, with specific attention to vicarious trauma concerns.
Examine library systems, policies, and practices for improvements, and collaborate with library staff on specific plans for implementation of improvements.
Training
Support library staff through preparing and providing trainings and important information on managing community needs through the library environment.
>Develop training and academic content pertaining to library social work. Maintain training records and provide written training reports, as needed.
Social Work Supervision – Non-Clinical
Develop and oversee implementation of Library Social Work Fellowship training program.
Provide supervision, instruction, and support leadership for any social work practicum students participating in the fellowship.
Provide assessment and feedback to student fellows and lead performance evaluations.
