The librarian is responsible for maintaining the collection, following library policy, and ensuring a high‑quality collection of relevant print and electronic educational materials that support the campus academic offerings. The librarian will provide services such as collection development, assistance, training on library equipment and services, development and enforcement of library and media policies, and collection maintenance.

Job Responsibilities

Provide circulation services, including shelving, reserves, and automated circulation system, as well as collecting and clearing fines.

Establish overall policies regarding library and media services, including access, evaluation of materials and equipment, and space planning.

Inform and orient library users of available services.

Inspect materials and equipment for suitability, obsolescence, and damage.

Purging collection to eliminate unused and out‑of‑date material.

Conduct collection development activities: preview, select, evaluate, acquire materials and read evaluative reviews.

Evaluate and acquire equipment.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Library Sciences.

Familiarity with library automation systems and emerging technologies supporting learning resources.

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, library staff, and faculty.

Understanding and commitment to the institution's philosophy.

Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socio‑economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the student body.
