This full‑time position seeks a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students in the Washington DC area. The role requires providing specialized instruction and services to children with visual impairments, helping them achieve academic and social success in the school environment. This contract position runs from ASAP through 5/29/2026 with an average caseload of 22 students. Key Responsibilities

Delivering tailored educational programs and adaptations based on students’ visual and learning needs Conducting assessments and collaborating with classroom teachers and families Implementing orientation and mobility training and assistive technology support Maintaining accurate records and progress reports for each student Staying current with best practices and state requirements for visually impaired education Qualifications

Active Virginia DOE certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with school staff and families Knowledge of assistive technology and instructional strategies specific to visual impairments Ability to manage an average caseload of approximately 22 students Location

Onsite role within the Stafford County public school system, Virginia Full‑time schedule, approximately 37.5 hours per week No telework or hybrid options available for this assignment This contract opportunity provides the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' lives by fostering independence and academic growth.
