Dalton, Georgia, United States, 30721 What We Need: The Designer role is an established performer that is responsible for creating innovative and user-centric designs for products, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting user research, and translating insights into visually appealing and functional designs. What You'll Do: Work on projects and assignments as part of a large work team. Effectively apply functional, process, and procedural or technical imagination to address business challenges. Work with assigned directors, mentors, and trainers to develop a working knowledge of Mohawk's design guidelines, internal processes, equipment, and all product types. Use artistic skills, design principles, and machine perimeters to develop technically accurate design files in response to design requests, specific instruction or generic brief, while maintaining acceptable lead times. Engage in artwork reviews, mentoring sessions, and team discussions for continuous development and increased knowledge of practical design skills, company and industry standards, and internal / external design expectations. Utilize various digital and non-digital design systems to create, modify, and develop product as requested by internal and external customers. Communicate with internal stakeholders as needed. Maintain appropriate documents, designs, processes, procedures, and policies as determined by work area. Perform other duties as needed. What You Have: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience. 2-4 years' relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience. Experience using various design systems required (ex. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator AS400, CAD, Nedgraphics, EasyMap, Tuft and Texcelle Software) Understanding of design /color principles and concept preferred. Technical knowledge of roto-gravure printing, digital printing, and flooring production processes preferred. For colorist-specific role, must be able to pass a colorblind test. What You're Good At: Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards. Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
