Job Summary As an Expeditor, you ensure the efficient flow of food from the kitchen to the dining area, coordinating preparation, presentation, and delivery of dishes, maintaining quality standards and excellent guest experience.
Reporting Structure
Reports to the Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef or Executive Chef
Day to Day Responsibilities
Oversee the expediting process during meal periods, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of dishes.
Coordinate with kitchen staff to manage timing and presentation of dishes per order tickets.
Check each dish for quality, portioning, and presentation before it leaves the kitchen.
Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team for seamless coordination.
Monitor food quality, ensuring it meets club standards for taste, appearance, temperature, and portion size.
Address and resolve any issues with food quality or presentation promptly.
Ensure all dishes are prepared according to special requests or dietary restrictions.
Keep expediting area organized and clean.
Assist with maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas as needed.
Manage organization of order tickets and ensure efficient processing.
Maintain clear communication with chefs, cooks, and servers.
Assist in training new kitchen and service staff on expediting procedures.
Collaborate with team to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and timely.
Interact professionally with members and guests, accommodating changes and last-minute requests.
Support fellow employees and contribute to a positive team environment.
Address and resolve member and guest complaints professionally, notifying management.
Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
Additional Duties
Assist others as needed per club needs.
Follow company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and commitment to excellence.
Follow safe working practices and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
Take initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain required certifications.
Address and resolve challenges using available resources.
Attend daily briefings and engage in required activities.
Wear a clean, neat uniform that meets club standards.
About You – Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience as an expeditor or similar role.
Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Attention to detail and commitment to high quality and presentation standards.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical Requirements
Must stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods.
Can work in varying temperatures and environments, with exposure to dust, fumes, or gases.
Capable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding/unfolding.
Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
Effective communication skills, including talking and hearing, with adequate visual acuity.
Primary Tools / Equipment
Kitchen knives (1‑5 lbs.)
Pots, pans, and other food storage containers (5‑50 lbs.)
Work Schedule
Attendance requirements per weekly schedule.
Additional hours required to meet deadlines, including weekends and holidays.
