Position Overview Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations and Compliance, this position is responsible for writing and editing a significant volume of custom stewardship reports for donors, and for assisting with communication strategies that support departmental goals and fundraising priorities for the College of Arts and Sciences.
The role includes creating, designing, and coordinating a range of digital and print communications for the Foundation, including stewardship reports, donor profiles, proposals, one‑pagers, concept papers, e‑newsletters, gift agreements, event invitations, programs, social media content and videos. It requires frequent interaction via email, phone, and in‑person to obtain information needed for donor reports.
Location & Compensation Work Location: Chapel Hill, NC
Salary Range: $44,000 - $47,000
Work Schedule: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Experience with graphic design and brand management.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, and ability to edit PDF’s quickly and accurately.
Strong writing and editing skills with familiarity with Associated Press (AP) style.
Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with major donors and a variety of university administrators and staff.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with demonstrated experience managing efficient production schedules and tracking all project components.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of graphic design principles and experience working with print and design vendors.
Demonstrable skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), WordPress, HTML, and design software.
Experience in development communications in higher education, especially within a fundraising campaign.
Understanding of the role of private support at a public university.
Desire to stay current with emerging trends and creative approaches in donor relations, marketing, and digital communications.
