Position Overview
The Student Photographer/Videographer works with University Unions staff to document and promote campus life and University Unions events through photography and video production. This position involves shooting and editing high-quality visual content for use across social media, digital signage, web, and marketing campaigns.
Most events occur after business hours and on weekends, so the work schedule will vary each week depending on event coverage needs.
The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with strong technical skills in photo and video production, an eye for composition, and a passion for capturing authentic student experiences.

Position Overview

Duties and Responsibilities
- Capture photos and video footage of University Unions programs, services, and events (mostly E+E), with an emphasis on storytelling and student engagement.
- Edit photos and videos for use in social media, web, and promotional materials while maintaining consistent brand standards.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute visual content aligned with communications goals.
- Assist in archiving, organizing, and maintaining digital assets for future use.
- Create highlight reels, short-form videos, and promotional content for social media and web platforms.
- Provide input on creative direction for campaigns and event coverage.
- Attend regularly scheduled team meetings and participate in brainstorming sessions.
- Other duties as assigned that support the University Unions' communications and marketing goals.
- Proficient in photography and videography, including composition, lighting, and post-production.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar).
- Knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices for visual storytelling.
- Creative thinker with a strong sense of visual design and attention to detail.
- Self-starter who can work independently and manage projects from concept to completion.
- Organized, deadline-driven, and adaptable to a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends as most events occur outside of traditional working hours.
- Highly collaborative and open to feedback.
- Attends regularly scheduled team meetings and training sessions.
- Has an extensive knowledge of student life at UT.
