CHYS is a mobile platform based in the USA. Our vision is to create the safest, most fun, and most connected pet communities online. Our mission is to connect pet owners and lovers, allowing people to discover nearby pets, listen to short podcasts, communicate, and keep animals safe. CHYS supports , a remote pet ID reader that helps reunite lost pets with their owners.
We are preparing for an aggressive public launch and need a world-class app and web designer to elevate our product’s look, feel, and user experience, ensuring it’s fun, intuitive, and consistent with our brand identity.
Role Summary
We are looking for a highly creative, detail-oriented App/UI/UX Designer with strong skills in mobile and web product design. You will:
* Refine and redesign our existing CHYS app (Flutter-based) * Create a website for the app, even though it is not yet approved on stores, the website is urgent * Ensure the entire app and website follow our existing style and color scheme * Simplify coding and focus on super fun user experiences, designed around pets and the local businesses * Avoid standard AI/fabrication platforms; instead, improve the current app design to make it smoother, lighter, and engaging
This role is ideal for someone who can translate ideas into delightful, community-focused visuals, and can work quickly to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
* Refine and redesign CHYS app interface (mobile and web) * Create new screens, user flows, micro-interactions, and feature concepts * Ensure all screens follow a cohesive design system in Figma * Maintain UI consistency with our brand style (cute 2D emojis, bright green/orange/black theme) * Collaborate closely with the founder and developers * Provide design assets ready for implementation * Optimize designs for super fun, intuitive, and simple coding experience * Deliver website quickly, building from the existing app
Required Skills & Experience
* 3–7+ years professional experience in mobile and web app design (iOS/Android) * Expert in Figma and web design principles * Strong portfolio of consumer or social apps * Ability to produce clean, visually appealing UI and smooth UX * Knowledge of Flutter development or ability to design for easy integration * Experience in creating light, fun, community-focused designs * Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and turn ideas into visuals fast
Preferred Qualifications
* xsgimln Experience with startup apps or fast-paced environments * Experience in gamified or community-based apps * Familiarity with pet-related products, characters, or avatars * Ability to provide motion graphics or simple animations is a plus
Compensation
* Competitive hourly or fixed-rate contract * Long-term ongoing work available * Opportunity to transition into a core design lead role as the app grows
