Job Title: Audio & Video Production Specialist
Exemption/Status: Exempt
Reports to: Chief of Communications
Salary: Commensurate with Experience

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Chief of Communications, the Audio & Video Production Specialist is responsible for supporting the coordination of district communications and public relations activities that create and maintain a favorable public image for Magnolia ISD. Primary responsibilities include audio and visual production at district facilities, such as the Event Center, and managing AV for board meetings, special meetings, and district events. Additionally, responsibilities include video production, writing, and electronic and print communications. Work with the Chief of Communications to preserve and enhance the District's brand.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree preferred, concentrated studies in communications, journalism, or video/AV
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Experience:
Successful experience in video production, editing and/or broadcast field or large event/church productions
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Plan the development of school communication efforts through district-level video productions, including designing and producing videos, developing storyboards, writing scripts, producing graphic illustrations, and editing programs and video footage.
2. Design, transport, set up, and operate production equipment, including audio and lighting equipment, for field and district productions at district facilities
3. Complete trouble and preventative maintenance reports on video and audio production equipment; assist in repair and upkeep; maintain equipment inventory
4. Remain current regarding trends, new technologies, and software for video production and distribution.
5. Support special programs, initiatives, and events for the district, including the ability to live stream.
6. All other duties as assigned by the Chief of Communications.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of digital editing applications and procedures, audio and/or video editing and post-production procedures, and techniques.
- Knowledge of audio and video mixing consoles, switcher systems, and live stream setup and production
- Basic knowledge of audio systems, sound equipment, microphones, monitors, balancing audio for live events, and troubleshooting audio issues/equipment
- Ability to take initiative and maintain focus while managing multiple projects
- Ability to configure, operate, and maintain the sound system and associated production equipment at district facilities
- Must be creative, flexible, detail-oriented, and organized
- Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Working knowledge of basic principles and practices of audio and video recording and editing, and lighting equipment operation
- Working knowledge of industry-standard audio/video software, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Adobe Premiere Pro applications, as well as Google.
