We are seeking an Audio-Visual Commissioning Specialist to assist with successful installations, configurations, and calibration of audio-visual systems to meet customer requirements. This role involves working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver high-quality AV solutions that meet technical specifications and exceed customer expectations.
Essential Functions
• Conduct on-site inspections to assess project requirements and site conditions.
• Install, configure, and integrate audio-visual equipment, including displays, projectors, sound systems, video conferencing systems, control systems, and network infrastructure.
• Develop configuration requirements and documents for manufacturer applications and products.
• Verify systems integration wiring connectivity and termination in the lab
• Calibrate audio-visual systems to optimize performance and ensure audio and video quality.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop commissioning plans and timelines.
• Document commissioning activities, including test results, configuration settings, and as-built drawings.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to audio-visual systems integration.
• Provide programming and/or support in loading, testing, and documenting results of pre-built customized control programs, touch panel files, and DSP builds.
• Perform system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Conduct end-user training on specific software applications and interfaces requiring client interaction.
• Assist in system solutions analysis, design, development, and testing activities.
• Develop and maintain configuration policies and procedures.
• Other relative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• At least 5 years of experience in AV Installation, Troubleshooting, Commissioning and Service.
• AVIXA CTS/CTS-I and CQT preferred. Not required with the right experience.
• Good working knowledge of Crestron, BIAMP, Extron and QSC.
• Experience with AV industry software platforms. Any direct programming experience is a plus
• Strong Networking skills. Any specific certifications or training is a plus.
• Experience with Audio tuning, equalization, and DSP Programming
• Organized, proactive and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with clients.
• Deep understanding of audio-visual protocols, standards, and technologies, such as HDMI, HDCP, Dante, EDID, AES67, and AVB.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Industry certifications, such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), CTS-I (Installation), or CTS-D (Design), are a plus.
Physical Demands
This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.
Work Environment
This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
