Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced AV Field Engineer to join a dynamic and growing team in a contract-to-hire role. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, configuring, and supporting complex audiovisual systems, including control systems, DSPs, and networked AV equipment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

We are seeking an experienced AV Field Engineer to join a dynamic and growing team in a contract-to-hire role. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, configuring, and supporting complex audiovisual systems, including control systems, DSPs, and networked AV equipment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Job Responsibilities:
- Tasked with troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems in a service support role. That includes testing, troubleshooting of system components and functions and field verification of connections, labels, installation, and work quality.
- Drawings - Proficient in creating & coordinating full drawing package: Signal flow diagrams, display & equipment elevations, speaker placement, conduit requirements.
- AV Design - Able to vet designs for missing/ wrong material and redesign as needed. Create change orders.
- Can maintain a workload of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Remote technical support.
- Troubleshoot and repair control systems (Crestron).
- Understand advanced system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals. They will be able to create shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-off.
- Understand Control System and / or DSP programming and commissioning including basic programming and setup to configure system components such as DSP, mixers, wireless mics, video & lighting systems.
- Conduct basic programming and configuring of AV equipment such as DSP (Biamp/QSC/BSS/ClearOne).
- Conduct basic programming and configuring of Crestron/Extron/AMX, matrix mixers and switchers, VTC (Cisco/Polycom).
- Commission audio systems.
- Work both "in house and in the field when required.
- Assist with maintaining and completing project punch-list for project close outs.
- Oversee the technical aspects of projects and IT coordination.
- Assist sales staff as needed with product and system demonstrations.
- Assist PM with change order designs and estimates.
- Handle other responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).
- Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
- Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentation(s).
- Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
- Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred focus in Computer Science.
- Networking classes preferred.
- Must be able to work well with other people.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
- Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
- Certifications: CTS & EAVA, Crestron Programmer 1, QSYS level 1.
- Crestron programming or DSP file creation.
- Experience 3 years prior.
- Networking - Able to coordinate network requirements with clients, configure network switches for multicast traffic & manage VLANs.
