Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Video Editor to join our growing communications and content team. In this role, you will help shape MAP’s digital voice across multiple platforms by producing engaging, high-quality video and audio content. Your work will directly support our mission of empowering youth and mentors by creating content that informs, inspires, and connects our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit short-form vertical videos for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok
- Produce and edit weekly podcast episodes (video and audio), ensuring pacing, visuals, and sound quality are polished
- Manage YouTube uploads via YouTube Studio, including titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and optimization
- Maintain consistent branding, audio-visual quality, and storytelling tone across all content
- Collaborate with communications, marketing, and education teams to align messaging with organizational goals
Requirements
- Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar)
- Basic audio editing skills (Audacity, Adobe Audition, or similar)
- Experience editing for multiple formats, especially short-form and long-form podcasts
- Familiarity with YouTube Studio and publishing best practices
- Strong eye for visual storytelling, pacing, and brand tone
- Ability to work independently and meet weekly deadlines
Preferred Skills
- Experience in nonprofit storytelling or mission-driven content
- Understanding of social media trends and optimization strategies
- Motion graphics or animation skills (a plus but not required)
