Position Summary: LTYC is seeking an innovative and tech-savvy Media Arts Instructor to inspire and educate students in grades K-8 through digital creativity! This role blends art, technology, and storytelling to help young learners explore photography, animation, video production, and digital design in a fun, engaging environment. This is an independent contractor position and not an employee role.

This role blends art, technology, and storytelling to help young learners explore photography, animation, video production, and digital design in a fun, engaging environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and teach age-appropriate media arts lessons incorporating digital tools, photography, animation, video production, and graphic design.
- Introduce students to key concepts in media literacy, visual storytelling, and creative problem-solving.
- Utilize various digital tools and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, iMovie, Procreate, or similar programs) to develop students' technical skills.
- Guide students in creating individual and group media projects, such as digital artwork, stop-motion animation, and short films.
- Foster an inclusive, creative, and safe learning environment where students can explore new ideas and express themselves.
- Maintain classroom technology and ensure responsible use of digital tools.
- Collaborate with other educators to integrate media arts into interdisciplinary projects.
- Showcase student work through digital exhibitions, screenings, or school events.
- Provide informal assessments and feedback to students and parents as needed.
- Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to form trust-based relationships with learned and other stakeholders.
- Emotional Intelligence: Impeccable strategic, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and abilities. Attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines and streamline processes; while taking responsibility for process for improvement and accountability.
- Operational Excellence: Excellent computer skills, the ability to operate computers and possess basic knowledge of Google Suite, Quickbooks, MS Windows, Microsoft Word, and other software. Organizational skills with a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and customer service.
- Entrepreneurial Drive: Regular and consistent attendance, must perform duties with moderate direction given, operating from established directions and instructions. Able to self-motivate, self-regulate and make autonomous decisions. Able to comprehend purpose and drive to carry out directives independently and with a team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Media Arts, Digital Arts, Art Education, Film, or related field, Teaching Certification or has completed at least 30 college credits
- At least 3 years of prior experience teaching media arts to children, ideally in an elementary or middle school setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and a student-centered teaching approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt lessons for different age groups and learning styles.
- Passion for the arts and a commitment to nurturing creativity in young learners.
- Independent Contractor Agreement: Must be signed upon acceptance.
- References: Three professional references required, including at least one from a previous position working with children.
- Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from school site(s).
- Certifications:
- Valid CPR & First Aid certification.
- Proof of educational background and professional certifications (if applicable).
- Health Clearance:
- A letter from a physician confirming candidate is in good health, free from communicable diseases (including TB).
- Background Check:
