Direct Counsel is representing an Amlaw 100 firm seeking an Attorney with a focus on Music Rights Transactions to join its Entertainment Transactions & Finance practice in New York. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about the business of music, entertainment, and intellectual property, with a strong interest in representing recording artists, producers, executives, and leading entertainment brands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare comments on third-party participant agreements for compositions and recorded music (e.g., producer, mixer, featured artist, songwriter agreements, letters of direction, certificates of recording).
- Draft and revise standard third-party participant agreements and other basic agreements in music, entertainment, and related fields (including publicity and interview releases).
- Collaborate with attorneys, consultants, and professionals across the entertainment and finance teams.
- Develop strategic thinking and problem-solving skills in the intellectual property and entertainment law space.
- Support recording artists and entertainment clients in achieving their creative and business goals.
- Bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction of practice (or awaiting bar results in the jurisdiction where you intend to practice).
- Experience or demonstrated interest in the music business, entertainment law, corporate law, or intellectual property.
- Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
- Passion for supporting artists, brands, and innovators in the entertainment industry.
- Team-oriented with strong initiative, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- $70,0000 - $90,000 per year
