Job Description:
The Media Innovation Center and Old Westbury TV (MIC/OWTV) Studio Manager is responsible for managing Old Westbury's state-of-the-art TV studio and multimedia facilities. To achieve this goal, the Studio Manager will collaborate with MIC-affiliated faculty. The Studio Manager will have a dual role of both maintaining the facilities and equipment to ensure the smooth year-round operation of MIC/OWTV, as well as serving as a mentor and supervisor for students, interns, and volunteers, ensuring that MIC/OWTV remains a community space aligned with Old Westbury's social justice mission. The Studio Manager will also supervise support staff. This is a full-time, 12-month position.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Maintain Media Innovation Center/OWTV facility, including studio and field production equipment.
- Oversee student workers to maintain checkout and lab hours.
- Oversee equipment checkout policies, hours and student staff (or volunteers).
- Conduct regular inventory of equipment and maintain inventory records.
- Establish, implement, and conduct trainings for studio best practices.
- Work with students daily in field and studio production and post production.
- Promptly identify equipment in need of repair and inform the Director of Media Production.
- Research and purchase new field and studio equipment, in consultation with media production faculty.
- Supervise student interns and student staff.
- Supervise the support staff.
- Support the production, distribution, and promotion of student media.
- Provide the technical, pedagogical, and managerial support needed to develop campus TV/multimedia resources.
- Support media production classes by testing and preparing equipment and teaching spaces prior to classes as per instructor requests.
- Work with faculty on strategic planning for facility upgrades and initiatives.
- Facilitate co-curricular student activities and workshops for student media makers.
- Coordinate with other campus sectors during renovation/construction phases.
- Proficiency in field video and audio production.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and using Digital Asset Systems (DAM).
- Proficiency in TV studio production that includes a working knowledge of operating control room and studio equipment.
- Primary functions are those of a media office and studio setting.
- Operation of media equipment requires repetitive hand motions and fine coordination.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling light to moderate weighs is also a primary function of the job.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of a degree).
- Professional experience in TV/video and/or multimedia production.
- Experience teaching, training, or mentoring developing media makers.
- Previous supervisory and/or project management experience.
- Three (3) plus years professional experience in TV/video or multimedia production or journalism.
- Experience utilizing TV, video, or emerging media for community engagement or social justice.
- Experience managing a media production facility and field production equipment.
- Experience engaging with a diverse, working student population.
