We believe in using our powerful voice to benefit our entire community. We are currently seeking an enterprising and energetic evening news anchor. You will join a dynamic newsroom that emphasizes breaking news, daily investigative journalism, and active coverage of severe weather. As an Anchor, you will represent journalistic leadership. Our Anchors must be our best reporters. You will be expected to pitch daily enterprise stories. You must also pitch and produce special investigative stories.

JOBTASKS

• Be a dynamic leader on the desk
• Engage with reporters, be active with every story
• Enterprise ideas and develop relationships with sources
• Foster strong community relationships
• Remain extremely knowledgeable of all local and national news
• Pitch original local stories with high value
• Execute direction presented in station research
• Creatively craft & present enterprise stories
• Work with photojournalists to craft stories that include and connect with real people
• Pitch and produce special investigative reports
• Mentor our reporters and help shape the future of journalism
• Adhere to strict newsroom deadlines
• Present stories with dynamic and demonstrative live shots
• Work on all platforms, prioritizing digital first
• Apply station guidelines in using social media

Qualifications

• Degree in journalism or related field
• 8 years of reporting experience
• 2 years of anchoring experience
• Demonstrate solid news judgment
• Must be a team player willing to collaborate
• Must value a diversity of voices to build strong journalism
• Excel under pressure
