NCWLIFE is seeking a Sports Editor / Anchor to join our award-winning local news team in Wenatchee, WA.
Lead all aspects of sports coverage across NCWLIFE Television and The Wenatchee World, ensuring timely, compelling, and community-focused journalism across television, digital, and print platforms.
NCWLIFE is North Central Washington's only local TV station and available on regional cable networks, streaming video platforms and all the usual social media channels. We're part of Washington Media, a community media and marketing organization providing digital, TV and print news for the region.
What You'll Do
- Direct and oversee all sports coverage, setting editorial priorities and maintaining high standards for accuracy, timeliness, and storytelling.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage game broadcasting/livestreaming operations, including scheduling, contracting and supervising freelancers, and serving as the primary liaison with local school districts.
- Host and deliver the sports segment on the NCWLIFE Evening News, providing authoritative and engaging on-air coverage.
- Manage and mentor sports reporters, fostering professional growth and maintaining consistent coverage quality.
- Lead the Athlete of the Week program, including selecting nominees, managing the voting process, and ensuring strong community engagement.
- Develop and execute comprehensive sports coverage plans tailored for digital platforms, print editions, and television broadcasts.
- Collaborate with newsroom, production, and advertising teams to align sports coverage with broader organizational goals and audience needs.
- Serve as a key voice in planning the annual Best of Preps Awards event.
- Work collaboratively with the advertising team to develop sponsorship opportunities around sports coverage, including livestreams, contests, and special features.
- Experience with live production systems in local sports broadcasting/livestreaming.
- Experience creating sports content as well as editing and coaching others.
- Experience and comfort with technology including Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Ability to work independently and to lead a team to meet daily deadlines.
- A passion for local sports storytelling across multiple platforms.

This is a full-time position with benefits based in Wenatchee, WA. This is an on-site role, typically Monday-Friday with evening or weekend assignments for live events.
The expected compensation range is $25-28/hr.
