Job Description:

The Band Director/Instrumental Music Instructor is responsible for the direction of the Philharmonic Orchestra, Concert Band, Strings and Orchestra, Wind Studies, and Jazz Studies programs in order to establish a creative, challenging, and nurturing environment that offers students unparalleled preparation for higher education and a profession in the arts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with arts instructors/directors to develop a strategic plan for continued conservatory growth
• Communicates effectively with parents, students, faculty, and colleagues
• Develops and oversees curriculum and assessments for the Instrumental Music conservatory
• Teaches various courses in the conservatory program
• Participates in school meetings and professional development activities
• Organizes and conducts the student selection process
• Develops and manages Instrumental Music recruitment initiatives
• Conducts open house presentations for prospective students and parents
• Oversees all aspects of Instrumental Music events, productions, and performances
• Manages community outreach, special projects, arts partnerships, and guest artist relationships
• Develops and manages Instrumental Music fundraising activities
• Manages Instrumental Music budget and administration
• Actively performs at a professional level in area of expertise and participates in professional music or music education organizations
