The Photographer is responsible for capturing images that complement the newspaper's written content. This role involves photographing a variety of events, portraits, and features, as well as working closely with the editorial team to ensure visual consistency and quality.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Capture Key Events:
- Photograph campus events, sports games, student activities, breaking news, and other newsworthy moments.
- Capture comprehensive coverage of major events.
- Work with Editorial Team:
- Collaborate with editors and writers to understand photographic needs and assignments.
- Photograph Portraits and Features:
- Capture portraits of students, faculty, and interview subjects.
- Edit and retouch photos as needed.
- Enhance Digital and Print Content:
- Collaborate with the multimedia team to provide images for online content, social media, and multimedia projects.
- Ensure photos are formatted for both print and digital formats.
- Background in photojournalism.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and uphold ethical reporting standards.
- Prior experience with The Panther or a comparable publication.
