*Job Summary*
We are seeking a licensed Architect to join our growing team full time in Chicago, IL. Ideal candidates are not only experts in their craft but also independent thinkers and individuals who are innovative, proactive, and enjoy collaborating within and beyond the project team. In this role, candidates will transform client visions into tangible, functional, and aesthetically compelling designs, and furthermore work with project engineers to develop these designs into real world models. Candidate's expertise in design, construction processes, and project management will drive the successful delivery of projects from concept through completion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape environments that enhance communities, elevate architectural standards, and breed innovation.
*Responsibilities*
* Develop comprehensive architectural designs that align with client needs, project scope, and regulatory requirements using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper 3D, SketchUp, and ArchiCAD.
* Create detailed drafting and construction documents to guide contractors and construction teams effectively.
* Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.
* Manage project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to optimize workflow and meet deadlines efficiently.
* Utilize project management software to oversee progress, track milestones, and communicate updates clearly across all stakeholders.
* Conduct site visits for renovation projects or new constructions to monitor progress, quality control, and adherence to design specifications.
* Prepare construction estimates and assist in negotiations with vendors, contractors, and clients to secure favorable terms.
* Use Bluebeam for document review, markups, and collaboration during design development and construction phases.
* Lead business development efforts by preparing proposals, presenting designs to clients, and fostering long-term relationships.
* Oversee construction management activities including contract administration, change orders, and quality assurance inspections.
* Collaborate on interior design elements when applicable to ensure cohesive aesthetic integration within architectural frameworks.
*Requirements*
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in architecture required, Master's degree in preferred.
* Ideal candidate MUST have a United States Architecture License or is in the process of obtaining one.
* Detailed knowledge of architectural/engineering practice with an emphasis on design, design development, preparation of construction documents, preparation of specifications, building materials, construction costs, and building codes.
* Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in an Architectural or an AE Design firm.
* Proven experience in architecture or related fields with a strong portfolio demonstrating diverse project types including renovation and interior design.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D (including Grasshopper 3D), SketchUp, ArchiCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), NavisWorks for clash detection & visualization.
* Must be proficient in computational design
* Solid understanding of project scheduling tools (such as Microsoft Project or Primavera) along with construction estimating techniques.
* Knowledge of construction management processes including budgeting, contracts negotiation, site supervision, and quality control.
* Familiarity with drafting standards and CAD/BIM software for detailed technical drawings.
* Strong skills in negotiation to manage client expectations and vendor agreements effectively.
* Excellent communication skills for presentations, team collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
