Role Overview

Want to kickstart your career in television news? KRCR has an immediate opening for a Creative News Producer to join the #1 news team in beautiful Redding, California! In this role, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day production of our newscasts, working closely with newsroom leaders, reporters, fellow producers, and field crews. You will determine the content and flow of the newscasts, generate and write stories, and develop content for our digital and social platforms.

Ideal Candidate

• Solid news judgment
• Compelling and accurate writing skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time to deliver an exciting and informative newscast
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Capability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
• Excellent on‑the‑spot problem‑solving and flexibility
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms
• Proficient with non‑linear editing (e.g., Avid) and newsroom systems such as iNews

Experience

• At least 1 year of newsroom experience at a commercial or college TV station is desired; entry‑level candidates may be considered
• Journalism degree preferred

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $17.50 to $18.85 per hour. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full‑time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave, and an employee stock purchase plan.
