s a Senior Studio Engineer, you will be responsible for collaborating with our design and engineering teams to transform creative concepts into functional designs and production-ready vehicles. You will be an integral part of the design process, ensuring that our vehicles not only look stunning but also meet the highest standards of safety, performance and functionality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enable Studio Designs with balanced engineering solutions
- Create and balance engineering criteria to support Studio Designs
- Support modeling activities in the Studio, including creating model set-ups and model armatures
- Interface with Industrial Design, Engineering, and Digital Modeling groups to ensure criteria and aesthetic compliance
- Support and/or lead technical reviews; organize meetings to resolve daily working issues
- Represent the Studio in applicable meetings; generate and present necessary documentation
- Check surface development against criteria and develop alternative solutions to support the design theme
- Release criteria-compliant surfaces per Studio & Engineering agreements and program schedule
- Verify and release production-intent, design/engineering-compliant math from surfacing groups
- Maintain tracking lists for surface development, engineering, and design issues
- Facilitate bucks, mock-ups, and rapid prototype parts
- Responsible for status of assigned parts at specific program gates
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in a Technical field (4-year degree)
- 5 years of Studio experience with a minimum of 8 years' experience in a related area of work
- Strong understanding of engineering theory and principles of automotive design
- Proficient in oral and written communication
- Skilled in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- bility to work independently and effectively with others
- Interest and ability to integrate complex systems
- Familiarity with general automotive manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated skills in CATIA (V6 preferred)
