Oxford College of Emory University invites applications for a tenure-track position in 19th-century Global Anglophone Literature at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning inAugust 2026.We seek candidates who hold a PhD in 19th-century globalAnglophoneliteratures, who demonstrate innovation and excellence in undergraduate teaching, and whose research interests include one or more of the following: race and empire; theories of diaspora; environmental studies; translation; cultural studies; literature of migration, travel, and displacement; visual culture; or transnational feminisms. We also seek candidates with a robust scholarly trajectory and a commitment to mentoring undergraduate research.

We are additionally interested in candidates whose teaching and scholarly interests intersect withother disciplines (for example: medicine and literature, law and literature, or science and literature) to meet the high demands of our many students who seek to pair the study of English literature with careers in health, law, business, and science.

The successful candidatewill teach6 English courses a year,including FirstYear Writing,First YearDiscovery Seminar (https://oxford.emory.edu/academics/discovery_seminars.html) ,andupper-levelliteraturecourses in areas of theirexpertise.
