Job Summary
The LCCC music department is specifically looking for adjuncts for the following positions:
-Applied Instruction Lessons in Woodwinds (Saxophone and/or Clarinet)
-Class Piano (I & III in the fall, and II & IV in the spring) Monday & Wednesday (credit workload per course is 2.25)
JOB SUMMARY: Instructional faculty for the music department may be asked to teach courses required for the Associate of Arts in Music, general education classes for the Communication and Creative Arts Pathway, and/or applied lessons on their primary instrument(s). Applied lessons may include music majors, non-majors, high school dual enrollment students, and community members.
Compensation:
$850 per credit hour workload. Applied Instruction lesson compensation: $315 per lesson taught (15 - 30 minute lessons per semester).
Priority Screening Date:
Position is open until filled.
Starting Date:
As soon as practical after the hiring process. Position filled on an as needed basis.

Use of a learning management system in instruction. Proficient skill with use of personal computing applications - specifically Microsoft Office Suite, Canvas, Finale Abilities
Manage conflicts, confrontations, and disagreements in a classroom (online or face-to-face) setting. Recognize and celebrate interpersonal and cultural diversity in a classroom (online or face-to-face) setting. Modify behavior & practices in response to new information, changing conditions, unexpected obstacles, or student needs. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor An employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be instances of somewhat loud environments. Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in music from a regionally accredited institution in any discipline (e.g., performance, education, conducting) In lieu of the required degree, candidates with equivalent professional experience, industry certifications, or a combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered. Preferred Qualifications:
One year of experience working in an academic setting One year of teaching experience at the college level (TA/GA positions accepted) One year experience teaching applied lessons to college students Experience teaching online and hybrid classes Experience using Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Finale, and other applications
