Job Summary

The Office of Communications & Marketing in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering is seeking a Graphic Design Student worker.

The student designer will be embedded with the Creative Services team and be responsible for updating and creating visual designs for various marketing collateral and social media graphics. The student designer will collaborate with the communications and marketing team to develop creative concepts as well as communicate with department staff on assigned projects. Other responsibilities and/or learning opportunities will be assisting with print production using a stack-paper cutter and trimming, as well as apparel order pick-up for the Engineering Spirit Store.

Essential Functions Manage multiple projects and deadlines Collaborate with communications and marketing teams on projects Communicate with engineering staff on requested projects Assist with Spirit Store apparel and promotional products Use of paper stack cutter to trim in-house print projects Create various print/digital marketing and promotional collateral such as (not limited to):

Invitations Posters T-shirt design Holiday cards and e-cards Newsletters Fact-sheets Social media Brochures Banner stands Postcards Mailers/flyers Logo design Event collateral Charts/graphs Coloring books (illustrations)

Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled as an Auburn University undergraduate student.

Preferred Qualifications

Expectations: • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat • Self-motivated who is comfortable taking initiative, working independently, and in collaboration • Responsive to a fast-paced, quick-turnaround environment • Ability to meet deadlines • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills • Ability to create visually appealing documents that maintain brand identity • Proactive and service-oriented nature • Work sample of 3-5 designs • Design assessment will be required
