RESUME REVIEWS AND INTERVIEWS FOR THIS CANDIDATE POOL WILL OCCUR ON A QUARTERLY BASIS. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE PLACED INTO THE ACTIVE CANDIDATE POOL AND MAY BE NOTIFIED WHEN THERE IS AN ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR OPENING FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE.
Adjunct Instructor positions are part-time, semester-to-semester, non-benefited MCCC/MTA/DCE unit positions.
Springfield Technical Community College's Digital Media Production Department is currently seeking an adjunct instructor who will directly report to the Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to deliver engaging lectures, conduct hands-on demonstrations, and assign practical tasks across a diverse range of responsibilities. This includes expertise in audio/video production, both in studio and field settings, extending to mastery in multimedia production, with a focus on web design, interactive media, and online media distribution. The preferred candidate will demonstrate proficiency in graphic communication, with a strong emphasis on skills related to typography and layout. Additional skills including industry experience, familiarity with the Adobe Suite, DaVinci Resolve and proficiency in the Learning Management Software Blackboard are a plus.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Actively participates with classroom discussions; sharing experiences and perspectives. Adjuncts will conduct classes, prepare for instruction, assess student performance, provide student assistance by appointment, collaborate with other division faculty and adjuncts to provide consistent learning objectives, engage in professional development and required trainings, and attend a limited number of faculty meetings. It may be necessary to teach courses across different modalities like online, hybrid, and face to face. Adjuncts are also required to meet all College policies and administrative deadlines. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates of Science degree within the fields of Digital Media Production Minimum of 2 years of work experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree within the fields of Digital Media Production and/or Graphic Arts Technology Successful community college teaching experience Commitment to fostering inclusiveness, equity and diversity within the academic setting Teaching experience with Early College students or at the High School level Commitment to the mission of the community college
