Description

The Architectural Lighting Visualization Manager is a purpose-driven leader responsible for establishing firm-wide visualization standards and driving creative innovation in the visual expression of architectural lighting storytelling. This role is pivotal in shaping the firm's visual language, enhancing design and technology integration, and elevating the impact of luminous storytelling across all platforms.

Supporting our global lighting designers, the Visualization Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of a firmwide visualization team and execution strategy. This includes producing world-class conceptual sketching, diagrammatic illustrations, renderings, and cinematic animations that communicate mood, materiality, and light with clarity and beauty-maintaining HLB's legacy of creating vibrant luminous environments through excellent client engagement backed by technical precision, and creative storytelling.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Collaborating with firm leadership, develop an understanding of the diverse visualization needs of our various market sectors and make recommendations for the implementation of appropriate hardware, software, and human resources to meet those needs. Oversee the production of high-quality sketches, diagrams, renderings, animations, and interactive presentations. Team Building & Mentorship:

Help assemble and mentor a team of visual artists fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on training to promote understanding and consistent application of visualization standards. Foster a culture of continuous improvement through workshops and engagement initiatives. Visualization Tasks:

Collaborate with designers to create mood studies, diagrams, sketches, renderings, and visual assets aligned with lighting strategies and consistent with HLB brand standards Develop rapid concept visuals during early design phases and participate in iterative feedback cycles. Refine composition, lighting balance, material texture, and post-production aesthetics to match project goals. Keep current with the latest rendering and lighting software, refining workflows to maintain visual excellence. Explore emerging visualization technologies and techniques to keep the firm at the forefront of design innovation. Support competitiveness by enhancing visual storytelling for national and international collaborations and market expansion. Requirements

Strong knowledge of architectural and lighting visualization programs along with a creative eye for luminous storytelling. Excellent problem-solving, communication and management skills, including the ability to multi-task with various projects and teams, working well under deadlines. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (including Photoshop and After Effects) and Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency with CAD and BIM modeling software such as Rhino, Revit, 3DS Max, SketchUp for scene setup and asset preparation. Proficiency with rendering software such as Enscape, V-Ray, Corona Renderer, Lumion, and Twinmotion/Unreal Engine. Familiarity with photometrically-accurate lighting modeling software, such as IES photometric profiles, ElumTools, Dialux, ClimateStudio, and AGi32. Familiarity with AI diffusion models such as Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Runway ML, and Krea. Familiarity with advanced material creation software such as Adobe Substance Designer, Quixel Megascans. Prior or analogous work with lighting or architecture studios. Strong portfolio showcasing innovative and cohesive visual work. Passion for design, storytelling, and pushing creative boundaries. Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in architecture, Interior Design, Lighting Design, Visualization, or related fields. 3-5+ years of visualization experience, ideally in architectural or architectural lighting environments.

Compensation:

$90,000 to $130,000

The final agreed upon compensation is based on cost of living, individual education, qualifications, and experience.
