Part-Time Teen Librarian

that spark curiosity and foster a love of learning Promote library services

through eye-catching materials and thoughtful outreach Provide expert reference support

and lead library tours and orientations with confidence Collaborate across departments , occasionally supporting Adult Services initiatives What We're Looking For:

A detail-oriented innovator with a flair for programming and outreach A confident communicator who thrives both behind the scenes and in front of a group A flexible team player who's excited to make a difference in the lives of teens and the broader community Key Responsibilities:

Provides expert reference services and Reader's Advisory to patrons across diverse interests and age groups Develops and maintains curated booklists and bibliographies to support community reading needs Designs, promotes, and delivers engaging library programs and events for all ages. Leads library tours and orientation sessions to familiarize patrons with system resources, facilities, and services Participates in the selection and acquisition of new books and materials based on community demand and collection development policies Reviews standard bibliographies and publishing sources to verify bibliographic details and recommend titles for purchase or donation Catalogs and classifies library materials using automated cataloging systems (e.g., OCLC), ensuring accurate and accessible records Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing library facilities, integrated library systems (ILS), and online databases for research and resource management Qualifications

Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution. Recent professional experience in a library setting as a Librarian or Library Assistant is highly desirable. Demonstrated interest in and effective use of social media and marketing tools preferred.
