Student Employee - Instructional Design Assistant
The Instructional Design Department at Ensign College is seeking an Instructional Design Assistant to help in the creation and improvement of Ensign College courses. In this role, you may work as part of a
Design Team
alongside Instructional Designers and Subject Matter Experts or assist with
special projects
such as quality assurance reviews or content updates.
We're looking for students who are curious, proactive, and eager to learn how great course design supports student success.
Qualifications: Excellent written and oral communication skills
A knack for making complex ideas understandable
The desire and ability to identify problems, research solutions, and suggest improvements
The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
Confidence in communicating with faculty and professionals
Strong attention to detail and an eye for effective content layout
Excellent time management and organization skills
Experience with
Google Workspace tools
(Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
Completion of
ENG 101
with a
B grade or higher
Additional qualifications that aren't required, but will be helpful:
Experience working with a learning management system (Canvas)
Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Copyediting experience or interest in writing/editing
Video editing experience
Experience or interest in
instructional or learning design
Work Expectations:
Up to
19 hours per week
Multiple semesters of availability preferred
Remote work setup required, including: A quiet workspace
Reliable internet connection
Flexibility to attend virtual team meetings throughout the week
